if you are ever in the dc area and you take the metro please, for the love of all that is holy and sacred, observe the basic rules: allow people to get off the train before you board it and when you are on an escalator stand to the right and walk to the left. people (me) will fucking end you if you don’t. especially the second one. DON’T STAND TO THE LEFT. please. and thank you.
Every time I go to DC I try to train my coworker-travelers in this. And that it’s okay to eat in a Chinese restaurant that has chickens hanging in the window.
Also don’t stop at the top or bottom of an escalator. KEEP WALKING. There are people behind you and you are causing a pileup.
