A virtual hoard of the shiny things I find on the internet.

I did have a margarita, though

I, on the other hand, spent most of today with Uncle Mike’s widow and their two sons. My contribution was to take the older son’s school supplies lists, merge it into one list, go through the pile of accumulated supplies, and put everything he needed together. And then I volunteered to go to Walmart and pick up the last couple of things that hadn’t been bought.

It’s not what I would call “fun,” exactly, but I was doing something that needed doing, and more detail-oriented than any of them could face. And it was good, and I’m glad I got to spend that time with them.

And then I got to have dinner with our friends the Turners. As soon as I arrived and had barely gotten the “Hello” out of my mouth, their middle son (who’s maybe 3 now?) tackled me with a big ol’ hug around my waist.

It was a good day, in its way.
