A virtual hoard of the shiny things I find on the internet.

If you order Canadian bacon off the menu of any restaurant in the United States you will be served what you see on the left.
I would like to set the record straight here. THAT IS NOT CANADIAN BACON.
That is sliced ham
In the middle you will see what in Canada is called Back Bacon. It is actually a cured, not smoked, pork loin. Often it is rolled in corn meal and and then called Peameal Bacon. You can see an example of that on the right.
Peameal Bacon, or real Canadian Bacon, has been proven in multiple double blind studies to be 347% more delectable than sliced ham.
A warning though. If you are in Canada and order bacon, you will 9 times out of 10 be served normal strip bacon. Just like in France, if you order toast, you will actually get toast.
(On next weeks episode: Maple Syrup comes from trees, dumbass, not corn)
Reblogging as part of my Canada Day crusade to educate the world about Canadian bacon.
