4 months ago these boots didn’t fit on Flickr.

I bought these boots over a year ago, and they didn’t fit- I couldn’t get the heel of the boot over the heel of my foot, because the distance from the front of my ankle to the back of my heel was too great. (Thick ankles, basically.)

I put them aside to send them back to Zappos (which has a fantastic return policy and I buy all my shoes from them for that reason), but then never got around to it. Late this summer, realizing I was coming to the end of the year-long return window, I tried them again. They really didn’t fit. But I got distracted again and never sent them back.

A couple of days ago I noticed that my shoes were… loose. Sliding off the back of my foot when they didn’t previously, that sort of thing.

So this morning I dug these out. I had to pull just a bit, but they slid on. And they are just as cute as I hoped they would be.

Apparently I am losing weight IN MY FEET.
