If you ran a network, wouldn’t you be open to any character idea that has proven successful both in original and modified forms, and is in the public domain? I’m surprised there aren’t even more ersatz Sherlocks banging about in prime time.
If I ran a network, I would probably care more about not ripping off whatever Britain is doing just at the moment.
