tj: To which I said, “Look more like 38s…” At which point the choir director turned bright red. Which is why it is very, very important that none of these people ever find out about the Internet. So, I have often wondered about that. Not because it’s any of my business; you’re an adult and have surely thought about this, but frequently I ponder how not all church members are...

Fizzy, Fuzzy, Big and Buzzy
tbridge: We made this tonight: 3 cups of strawberry puree 2 cups of lemonade 1.5 cups of rye whiskey 1 Sprite I shall call it: Fizzy, Fuzzy, Big and Buzzy  I should clarify that what we actually used was nigh unto a quart of lemon juice and a bunch of sugar. Lemonade usually has water in it. This did not, which is why the inside of my mouth is currently in acid rebellion.

kimberlyfaye: This made me love Kurt’s dad even more.  Also, it dropped Finn a whole lot of points in my book.  I thought the entire episode was kind of heavy-handed, to be honest (though I do always love a good Mr. Hummel scene). Here’s the thing about Finn- first, I think he was written into a corner in a way that wasn’t internally consistent. If the Hummel house were really...

true tales from the office
My company is having a bit of a baby boom right now. Four staff members are expecting, three women and a man. Of the three women, two are in my VP’s team, and their babies (and therefore maternity leaves) are due within a few weeks of each other.  So my boss and I are in the VP’s office for our weekly meeting with her, and we’re talking about the annual Staff Recognition Lunch,...

First Look: Ray's the Steaks at East River - DCist →
By car, we live about 5 miles from this place, and we’re huge fans of Ray’s the Steaks in Arlington (more steak, less other stuff). I say by car because you have to drive around the National Arboretum and the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens to get from our place to Ray’s River East.  When I’m trying to remind myself to not see people in black-and-white, I think of the owner of...

Bit Bucket: The Zen of Yard Maintenance →
I know it’s weird, but I loved mowing the lawn when I was younger. We lived on a corner lot when I was a kid, which meant there was a lot of grass to keep trimmed, and it grew voraciously in the California sunshine. That meant a lot of time out cutting it. Saturday was the usual day for it, and… I would just like to publically acknowledge that I know I lucked out when I married a guy who...
